形態特徵

• Plants 1.5-2.0 m, glabrous.
• Petioles 0.5-1.0 cm long. Blade 35-50 by 10-15 cm, oblong to lanceolate, tip acuminate, base cuneate, glabrous on both sides except for the margin; ligule 1 cm long, entire or bilobed, subcoriaceous, glabrous. Inflorescence a thyrse, erect, glabrous, 35 cm long, each branch with 2-4 flowers; bract minute, deciduous.
• Flowers pedicellate; bracteole white, 0.5 cm long, glabrous, persistent or deciduous; calyx white, tubular, 1 cm long, shortly 3-lobed; corolla green-white, tube 1 cm long, lobes oblong, greenish at margin, glabrous, dorsal lobe 1.8 cm long, laterals 1.6-1.8 cm; labellum white, with 1.5 cm long claw, deeply bilobed at apex, 2 by 1.3 cm; staminodes subulate, 0.6 cm long, with red stripes, glabrous; anther 0.9 cm long; filament 0.8 cm long; stigma expanded, ciliated orifice; style slender, 2 cm long; epigynous glands columnar, 0.3 cm long; ovary glabrous, 0.7 by 0.5 cm, green.
• Fruit berry-like, orange-red, ellipsoid, 1-1.5 by 0.7-1 cm, smooth, glabrous. Seeds 5-10, angled, aril white, membranaceous.

分布

• 台灣 : cultivated and occasionally escaped in Taiwan.
• 世界 : India, Indochina, Malaysia, the Philippines, Java, Borneo and Hainan.
